Through their explosive live performances, poignant lyrics, and developments regarding the technological aspects of rock and roll, The Who have established themselves as one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Known for hit singles such as “I Can’t Explain”, “My Generation”, and “Pinball Wizard” and classic albums such as 1969’s Tommy and 1973’s Quadrophenia, the band has gained its reputation for its integration of synthesizers into basic rock structure, creation of the rock opera, and use of the Marshall Amplification stack, large public address systems, auto-destructive art, and extreme volume distortions.

The Who have sold over 100 million records worldwide, and have cemented their status as rock and roll legends. In 1988, the band received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Phonograph Industry. In 1990, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2001, the Grammy Foundation also awarded the Who with a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2005, the band was also inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame. Moreover, The Who have influenced act such as Elton John, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix, Green Day, and the Ramones.

Now, it’s time to experience the Who in all its glory as the band embarks on its Who Hits 50! Tour, which will commemorate the group’s 50th anniversary.

Furthermore, the band will be bringing a very special guest with them on their celebratory tour; newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend Joan Jett! The “I Love Rock’n’Roll” singer has enjoyed a longstanding friendship with the members of the Who, and will surely add a new layer of excitement and flair to the dynamism of the night.

You can catch the Who and Joan Jett as they take over Canadian venues such as Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome, Edmonton’s Rexall Place, Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre, Winnipeg’s MTS Centre, and Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.
