P.K. Subban For Captain?

Following an overwhelmingly successful 2013-2014 season, the Montreal Canadiens are gearing up for a new season of high thrills, terrific intensity, and breathtaking hockey…only this time, it seems like the team will commence the preparations for the new season without a captain.

During the off-season, the Habs lost their legendary captain Brian Gionta, after the celebrated player signed a three-year free agent deal with the Buffalo Sabres. Now, there’s only one question on everybody’s mind. Who will wear the prestigious “C”?

Long-time Montreal defenseman Andrei Markov, 2013 Norris Trophy-winning defenceman P.K. Subban, centre Tomas Plekanec, and U.S. Olympic hockey team forward Max Pacioretty are all worthy candidates for the title of captain. The leadership of either of these iconic Habs player could undoubtedly enrich the Habs, and lead the famed team to victory.

In other news, awe-inspiring goaltender Martin Brodeur has expressed interest in finishing his career in his hometown of Montreal. Brodeur has experienced an enormously successful career, with a Hall of Fame induction and three Stanley Cup wins under his belt. Brodeur’s tenacious skill would be a great asset to the Habs, and his presence would be a highly welcomed addition to the Habs.

Meanwhile, Canadiens tickets are now on sale! The pre-season begins on September 23^rd, and will conclude on October 4^th. The Canadiens will play their first regular season game against the Leafs at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The Habs’ first home game is on October 16^th, when the Boston Bruins venture to the Bell Centre for a night of unrivaled passion.
