There’s an endless list of reasons to love hockey, but there’s only one that can lead any hockey fanatic into an uncontrolled frenzy; rivalries.

Not a single thing can match the heart-pounding sensation that accompanies watching your favorite time go head-to-head against their sworn enemies. And there’s nothing like the feeling that begins when your favorite team score a goal against their rivals; the energy begins in your legs, and the sheer momentum sends you jumping and screaming.

Among all the rivalries in the NHL, none can compare to the intensity between the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames. Dubbed the Battle of Alberta, the rivalry began in 1980 and has stood the test of time. The Flames currently lead in regular season records, but the Oilers have them beat in playoff records.

Don’t miss the chance to be a part of the most well-known rivalry of the entire NHL, the Battle of Alberta! This season, the Flames take on the Oilers in December at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The two will meet again in March at Edmonton’s Rexall Place!
