Where does one begin when it comes to the Rolling Stones?

Perhaps it is wise to begin an analysis of the Rolling Stones by citing the unbeatable combination of Mick Jagger’s dramatic persona and Keith Richards’ signature guitar style. Or, maybe it would be better to begin by discussing how the band is capable of producing unique tunes through a potent infusion of American blues. Then again, perhaps it would be best to explain how the Rolling Stones began their music career in the vanguard of the British Invasion through iconic early hits such as “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, “Get Off of My Cloud”, “Under My Thumb”, “Let’s Spend the Night Together”, “Wilde Horses”, and “As Years Go By”.

Alas, it would be impossible to speak of the Rolling Stones without mentioning that, in the group’s 53 years, the band has released twenty-nine studio albums, eighteen live albums, and countless compilations. And, while we’re at it, why not mention that the Rolling Stones have sold over 250 million albums, thus making them one of the best-selling bands in the world? And why not also mention their acquirement of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Hall of Fame.

But why devote so much concern and attention to providing a concise introduction to the Rolling Stones when all prefaces lead to the same conclusion? Indeed, regardless of the fickle introduction, the conclusion is always the same; the Rolling Stones are one of the greatest acts of all time. Period.

This year, the highly influential band will make its way to Quebec’s Plains of Abrahams to blow audiences away in a crescendo of ear-splitting music, thunderous cheers, and electric dynamism. When July 31st rolls around, only one thing is certain; nothing can prepare Quebec for the craze that will be unleashed when these legends take the stage.
